[/ Arlie almost blushed at Cassie’s question, had she been in a different situation she probably would be ] Wh-When I-I met h-him h-he wa-was like C-Casper.

[/ Arlie looked confused as Avery tugged his collar down. She didn’t understand why he would do that if Cassie was thirsty, the idea that the woman in front of her was a vampire going completely over the young girl’s head ]

Oh really? Hmm, interesting. *Leans over toward Avery* Why yes, I’d love a drink. *Cassie takes one quick look at the girl before biting down on Avery’s neck to drink. The taste of it, him mixed with the book’s magic, is always so powerful, increasing her urges rather than satiating them.*

*He hums at the feeling of Cassie drinking from him, letting it go on for a few moments before he gently pressed against Cassie; it was enough.* Ahhh. I’m always so happy to help out a close friend~ *He looked at the girl and grinned.* How’s your cake, Arlie? Is it nice?

[/ Arlie dropped the knife and her hands flew up in front of her mouth as she suppressed a scream as Cassie bit down on Avery’s neck. Her eyes were wide and despite her hands over her mouth you could still hear the shrill noise she let out ]

*Although all she wants is more, Avery’s nudge gives her pause. Cassie licks the spot clean, searching for any small drops. Once satisfied, she leans up to give Avery a kiss on the cheek and wipes her mouth clean before turning back to Arlie.* How’s your cake?

*A paper napkin flew over for Avery to daub at his neck with, getting Cassie’s saliva and any remaining plasma off.* Is there a problem, Arlie?

[/ Arlie was blinking fast as she stared at the two, not saying a word. It was all done so fast if it weren’t for the little marks on Avery’s neck she coould have almost believed it hadn’t happened and she was seeing things. But the marks were there. It had happened. As a result the little girl was backpedalling her thoughts—This was why Cassie gave her icky feelings—because she ate from people. -

Th-Thank y-you, C-Casper. [/ Arlie shakily cut a small piece of cake ] D-Do y-you o-or Mi-Miss C-Cassie w-want any?

Casper?

*Shakes her head* No, none for me. While I’m sure it’s delicious, I have a very…different diet.

And I’m not hungry right now… *Tugs his collar aside and leans his head over, letting Cassie see his neck.* If you’re thirsty, Cassie, you can help yourself to me~

[/ Arlie jolted as Avery opened the door, her near terror clearly not befitting her current frilly attire. She gave Avery a meek nod, not entirely sure her voice would work if she tried. ]

*Shrugs and goes about setting a table, her hands jittery with excitement, much as she attempts to conceal it.* Yes, Avery picked up some nice stuff for you.

*He guided Arlie to the chair, and handed her a knife to cut the cake, presenting it to her.* It’s all for you, Arlie~ Isn’t it nice?

[/ Arlie flinched hard as she heard the door unlock and she stared at the bag slipped in. Ever so slowly, probably much slower than her ‘hosts’ would have wanted, she made her way over to the bag and gingerly looked through it. Any other time she would have been ecstatic to receive such pretty dresses but right now she wasn’t in any kind of mood for that. She took the blue one, mostly because it was on top in the bag. She, just as slowly as she seemed to be doing everything right now, put on the dress then walked towards the door. She raised her hand to knock but couldn’t manage to actually knock. Instead standing there, her hand raised. ]

None at all. I don’t know why you’re going to all the trouble for…*Trails off, heightened senses picking up the footsteps toward the door. She nods over toward it, motioning for Avery to go.*

Because it makes it so much sweeter, in the end. *He pulled open the door and smiled down at Arlie.* Well, don’t you just look beautiful~ And all nice and clean. Shall we go have some cake and tea now?

[/ From in the bathroom Arlie heard a door outside close but she wasn’t in any condition to feel curious about it. Arlie was busy receding back into herself for ‘protection’ from what she had no idea or even if her fears were justified but it was just happening. It was always what happened when she had to deal with stressful fear inducing situations. ]

*Cassie goes about finding her own supplies. Even if she couldn’t physically harm the child—too much, anyway, and not right now—they would still have to restrain her, and so Cassie gathers her required tools and stows them away, hidden but easily accessible. Each one excites her in her hands. She wonders vaguely what is taking the girl so long—if she had any brains at all, she would have drowned herself, but alas, have to think whose daughter it was.*

*Avery returned shortly after with two bags in one hand and a box in the other. He’d found an abandoned children’s costume store and a cake shop. He’d grabbed (along with looting a Target for some underclothes and shoes and things) two pretty princess dresses; one blue, one pink, both unholy collections of ruffles, bows, poofiness and the occasional sequin. The cake, on the other hand, was a simple buttercream sponge iced and decorated with chocolates and little icing sugar butterflies.* I’m home darlings~ Arlie, are you finished in the bath? *The door unlocked and opened, and he slid the clothes inside without entering, closing it soon after.* Clothes are in the bag, dear. *He turned to Cassie.* No trouble?

[/ Arlie flinched hard as she heard the door unlock and she stared at the bag slipped in. Ever so slowly, probably much slower than her ‘hosts’ would have wanted, she made her way over to the bag and gingerly looked through it. [/ Arlie got herself cleaned up as fast as she could. Once she was done she bundled herself up in a towel and curled up leaning against the side of the tub. She wanted to go home, why didn’t Avery understand? She glanced over at the door, Avery had said to knock when she was done but she really didn’t feel like getting up. She wanted to curl up and disappear. ]

If you say so. *The small look of disappointment quickly leaves at Avery’s touch. She nods her head as her dehumanizing stops* Yes, yes they are.

Alright. Ciao~ I’ll be back soon. *Kisses her before departing, whistling merrily. He was going to get a cake, and a dress. Making children love you, then ruining all their little dependencies and securities, scarring them for life (however short) — to him, it was the most fun thing he could think of.*
